At high pH, limescale deposits occur, the water acquires an unpleasant odor and can irritate the eyes and skin of swimmers.
If the pH value is low, the metal parts of the pool are at risk of corrosion, and the tile covering materials and seams will crumble.
It is very important to remember that the disinfection efficiency of chlorine at pH = 7.0 is 3 times higher than at pH = 8.0.
After filling the pool with water, the first step is to measure and adjust the pH and chlorine levels.
Method of application for liquid measuring device (Orthotolidine + Phenol Red):
• Lower the test tube into the pool water to a depth of 20-50 cm, fill with water up to the mark and remove
• Add 4 drops of Orthotolidine reagent to the Cl sample tube and 4 drops of Phenol Red to the pH tube.
• Close the bottle and shake.
• After 10-15 seconds, the actual Cl and pH standards will be visible on the color scale.
• With the help of chemicals, it is necessary to normalize the optimal pool water standards: pH value 7.2 — 7.4, and Cl (chlorine) 0.3-0.6.
Method of application for measuring device with tablets (DPD1 + pH):
• Lower the test tube into the pool water to a depth of 20-50 cm, fill with water up to the mark and remove
• Add 1 tablet of DPD1 to the Cl tube and 1 tablet of Phenol Red (red reagent) to the pH tube.
• Close the bottle and shake.
• After 10-15 seconds, the actual Cl and pH levels will be visible on the color scale.
• With the help of special chemicals, it is necessary to normalize the optimal pool water standards: pH value 7.2 — 7.4, and Cl (chlorine) 0.3-0.6.
Attention
The measuring devices are intended exclusively for checking Cl and pH in pool water and cannot be used for other purposes.
